The Basílica de la Sagrada Família in Barcelona is a beautiful ode to architectural vision and spiritual ingenuity in the middle of Catalonia’s busy metropolis. Designed by master architect Antoni Gaudi, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this gigantic destination attracts visitors from all over the world to admire its distinctive nature-inspired architecture.
The outside is decorated with beautiful stone carvings of bible stories. The inside feels like a big forest. Lofty ceilings, carried by branching double twist columns. Warm oranges, rich blues and bright greens from stained-glass windows flood the central nave depending on the time of day.
Gaudí combined superior structural engineering with flowing organic forms in a unique way. Today’s architects are coming to fulfill Gaudí’s original mathematical vision by means of three dimensional models, so that future generations may continue Gaudí’s exceptional artistic legacy.
